Man to die for killing wife

A court here yesterday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife last year.

The convict is Shahidullah alias Shahidul Islam, son of Shamsul Islam of Kutubdia upazila in the district.

According to the case statement, Shahidul killed his wife Istafa Khatun, 19, following a family feud on August 25 last year.

The following day, the victim's father filed a case with Pekua Police Station, accusing Shahidul.

After examining witnesses and evidence, District and Sessions Judge Sadiqul Islam Talukder pronounced the verdict.
