Man to die for killing wife

A Jessore court here yesterday sentenced a man to death for killing his second wife in Jessore town in 2001.

Judge Nitai Chandra Saha of Special Judge's Court also fined the convict, Helal Uddin of Shikarpur area in Bogra town, Tk 20,000.

According to the prosecution, an altercation took place between Helal and his second wife Rupali Khatun, 19, at their Barindapara residence over a family feud on June 14, 2001.

At one stage, Helal strangled Rupali and dumped her body inside a septic tank of his house.
