Man arrested for killing wife

A housewife was killed by her husband allegedly over a family feud in Sadar upazila early yesterday.

The victim, Parul Begum, 42, was daughter of Karim Bokhs of Barisal.

Police, however, detained Parul's husband Alamgir Khan, 50, for his alleged involvement in the murder.

Quoting the victim's family members, police said after divorcing her first husband Parul married Alamgir, of Nawabganj area in Dhaka's Dohar upazila, about two years ago.

The couple locked in an altercation around 1:00am. At one stage, Alamgir strangled Parul to death.

Police said they recovered the body and sent it the hospital for autopsy.
