Madrasa teacher killed in Khagrachhari fire

A lecturer of a local madrasa was killed as a fire broke out at her home in Khagrachhari town early today.

Maoshrijita Dewan (32) was a lecturer of Bangla department at Khagrachhari Islamia Alim Madrasa, reports our Rangamati correspondent.

Police said all family members, except Maoshrjita, managed to come out when the fire started at her Collegepara house around midnight.

On information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after one hour of frantic efforts, said Deputy Director of Khagrachhari Fire Service Didarul Alam.

Later, they recovered the body of the teacher. Reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.

Mohammad Rashid, officer-in-charge of Khagrachhari Sadar Police Station, also confirmed the incident.
