Local AL leader held for occupying polling centre in Tangail

Police have arrested an upazila level Awami League leader on charge of occupying a polling centre during Tangail's Bhuiyanpur municipality election today.

The arrestee, Tahirul Islam Tota, is acting general secretary of Bhuiyanpur upazila unit AL, reports our local correspondent quoting Rashidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bhuiyanpur Police Station.

Law enforcers held him from Tepibari High School polling centre for occupying the centre, the OC said quoting locals.

He was later handed over to police, he said.
