Lightning kills farmer

A farmer was killed by lightning at Diyar Manikchar village in Godagari upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased is Shafiqul Islam Kalu, 32, son of Abdur Razzak of the village. Locals said a thunderbolt struck Kalu while he was working at a field around 4:30pm. He died on the spot.
