Kashiani OC closed

The officer-in-charge of Kashiani Police Station was withdrawn from duty following a directive of the Election Commission (EC) on Tuesday night, four days ahead of the union parishad elections in the district. Superintendent of Police SM Emran Hossain said the EC faxed a letter, signed by Deputy Secretary M Shamsul Alam of the commission, issuing an order to withdraw OC Manirul Islam of Kashiani Police Station. The EC's decision came after several allegations that Manirul had harassed an independent chairman aspirant and a few member candidates.
