Jubo League man's skeleton found

Police yesterday recovered the skeleton of a slain Jubo League leader, after over one year of his missing, from a septic tank of an abandoned house on Ramala Road of Thakurpara here.

The victim was identified as ATM Tarikul Hasan Titu, 32, youngest son of late Abu Taher Master of Gomoti residential area in Comilla.

Titu had been missing since July, 2015.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Shahidul Islam and SI Shah Kamal of Comilla Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested one Md Rafiqul Islam Limon from Chotora Mogbari Chowmohoni Road area, and seized a revolver and three bullets from his possession on August 28. They also arrested Hridoy, 30, from the area.

Limon is son of Abul Hashem of Ashoktola.

On interrogation, Limon confessed that he and seven members of his gang shot Titu dead in Thakurpara Shashan area and hid the body in an abandoned house.

Comilla DB police recovered the skeleton following Limon's confession, said AKM Monjur Alam, officer-in-charge of DB police in Comilla.

Victim's brother ATM Rakibul Hasan said Titu was vice-president of Debidwer municipality unit of Jubo League and his youngest brother.

His mother and brothers demanded exemplary punishment to the killers.
