Jubo League leader shot dead in Bandarban

A local Jubo League leader was shot dead by unidentified men at Ching Kyaw Karbari Para of Bagmara area under Bandarban Sadar upazila this evening.

The deceased was identified as Mong Chaw U Marma (40), organising secretary of Jubo League's Rajbila union unit, said AKM Jahangir, vice president of Bandarban district unit of the ruling Awami League.

Two unidentified criminals called Mong out of his house around 7:30pm and shot him dead, Jerin Akther, superintendent of police in Bandarban, said quoting Mong's wife.

Police went to the spot and recovered the body, the SP said, adding that it will be taken to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

The law enforcers are looking into the matter, SP Jerin Akther added.
