‘Journo’ quarantined after interviewing 8 patients in isolation in Kapasia

Police detained a person, reportedly a local journalist, and placed him in quarantine in Kapasia upazila of Gazipur yesterday.

He allegedly entered forcefully into a quarantine facility in Pabur area of the upazila and interviewed eight quarantined persons, reports our Gazipur correspondent quoting police.

The detainee, Ramzan Ali Rubel, is a local journalist and entered the facility identifying himself as a cameraperson of a private TV channel, said Liakat Ali, officer-in-charge of Sreepur Police Station.

After interviewing the eight quarantined persons, Rubel managed to flee from the spot, the OC said.

On information, law enforcers from Sreepur and Kapasia police stations detained the man around 9:00pm and placed him on 14-day quarantine, OC Liakat added.
