Jamaat Amir arrested with bombs

Police yesterday arrested Afzal Hossain, amir of Kumarkhali municipality unit of Jamaat-e-Islami, from his house in the municipality area and recovered five crude bombs from there.

Ziaul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kumarkhali Police Station, said police raided Afzal's house in rail gate area at around 6:30am and arrested him.

Police said Afzal is an accused in several cases. He was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court in Kushtia in the afternoon. The court sent him to jail.
