Jamaat activist held

Police arrested a Jamaat activist at his house at Imadpur village in Mithapukur upazila of the district early yesterday. The arrestee is Md Jewel Mian, 38, son of Md Robiul Islam of the village. He is charge sheeted accused in a case for arson attack on a passenger bus that killed six people in Jaygirhat area under the upazila on January 13 this year. Police took him to their custody for interrogation, the OC added. Jewel remained absconding for long, said Md Humayun Kabir, officer-in-charge of Mithapukur Police Station.
