Housewife murdered for dowry

A housewife was killed by her husband allegedly for dowry at Jujhkhola village in Pirojpur Sadar upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased is Anima Mirbor, 28, wife of Uttam Mirbor, 32, of the village.

Victim's family members and police said Uttam, son of Upen Mirbor, often tortured Anima to bring money from her father.

Around 9:00am on Tuesday, the couple locked in an altercation over the issue. At one stage, Uttam strangled Anima and fled the scene.
