Gen Lab’s SDG-focused urban campaign ‘Peace Caravan’ to be launched

Gen Lab, a youth-led social enterprise, has initiated an urban art-based project -- Peace Caravan -- to inspire and educate urban youths and professionals to adapt with a sustainable, inclusive and peaceful social living through means of art and digital presence.

Partnerships for a Tolerant and Inclusive Bangladesh (PTIB) and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) are providing strategic and monetary support to the organisation for successful implementation of the project with terms and conditions applicability.

On this particular project, Gen Lab focuses on "Promote Just, Peaceful and Inclusive Societies" which is Sustainable Development Goals (SDG -16), a press release said on Sunday.

The particular project is designed to curate creative artworks through few selective numbers of bus, rickshaw and other transport medium inside Dhaka metropolitan area, the press release said.

Keeping SDG 16 as the prime concern, the project will also shed lights on few other SDG goals, it read.  

The artworks are meant for promoting peaceful and inclusive community living, religious harmony, equal rights and empowerment for women, environment and climate friendly lifestyle for ensuring sustainable urban living, waste management and accessibility of persons with disabilities in accordance with constitution of Bangladesh.

Digital media activity will be undertaken from May, 2020 through Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Keeping Covid-19 situation in concern, Gen Lab primarily aim to aware urban citizen about key messages through digital mediums.

Besides, a survey will be conducted among students and young professionals of Dhaka metropolitan to assess their insight on above mentioned areas. Based on the survey findings a research report will be published and insights will be taken into account while designing the digital and offline awareness campaign.
