Gazipur chemical factory fire: Another body recovered

Another body was recovered from the chemical factory in Gazipur's Sreepur upazila today, raising the death toll from the fire incident to three.

Police recovered the body of Nasir Uddin (32) from the first floor of the seven-storey building this morning, said Kamrul Islam, sub-inspector of Sreepur Police Station.

Nasir, hailing from Cumilla, used to work at chemical department of the factory, our Gazipur correspondent reports quoting the police official.

"The body could not be identified initially as most parts were burnt. The family members confirmed the identity seeing Nasir's belt and other objects. Police handed over the body to them as there was no claim from anyone else," said the police official.

Earlier, the bodies of two people – Ashraf (42) and Alamgir (42) – were recovered from the factory after the fire incident.
