‘Film for Humanity’
As the Covid-19 pandemic cripples the world and its economy with thousands of cases every day, the biggest victims are the poor, who cannot afford to stay home. Keeping them in mind, independent filmmakers from Bangladesh and beyond have created 'Film for Humanity'.
The organisation will host an online film festival from May 1 onwards, the proceeds of which will go to Bidyanondo Foundation, which is already working on providing food and medicine for the less fortunate.
The short films will be uploaded on online streaming site Vimeo, where the audience can watch it in an on-demand rental basis. Every filmmaker will receive official documents regarding the revenue from their film, and where it has been donated. The festival will run until June 30, and has already received 25 film submissions as of today.
