Fifth-grader gang raped in Teknaf

A fifth-grade madrasa student was gang-raped allegedly by three youths in Teknaf upazila under Cox's Bazar district.

The victim's father filed a case accusing three persons with Teknaf Police Station today noon, said the station's on-duty officer Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Saif.

The accused are Md Ismail (23), Md Nurul Absar (20) and Amin (30), said police sources.

According to the case statement, the incident occurred at Teknaf's Lengurbil area on August 8.

Quoting the case statement, ASI Saif said the victim is a fifth grader in a local madrasa.

The child was rescued by locals and sent to hospital for treatment and medical tests, he said.

Teknaf Police Station's officer-in-charge could not be reached for the report.
