Fake energy drinks factory unearthed

A mobile court unearthed a fake soft drinks factory in Jubilee tank para of the district headquarters yesterday, and seized a huge amount of soft drinks and chemicals from there. 

The mobile court, led by Pabna Sadar Upazila Nirbahi officer (UNO) Raihana Islam, in cooperation with Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), raided the house of Haider Ali in the area where the fake drinks were produced.

Pabna camp Company Commander of Rab-12 Bina Rani Das said the factory owner was making and marketing fake energy drinks.

Bina Rani said they were manufacturing fake sex energy drinks, soft drinks, hojmi, saline and herbal medicines. The company was producing the items without any approval of the BSTI or any other legal uthorities, the Rab commander said.

During the drive, the mobile court seized chemicals and products worth around Tk 1 core from the spot and fined the factory owner Tk 2 lakh, she added.
