Fake doctor jailed

A mobile court sentenced a fake doctor to three months' imprisonment in Kawkhali upazila of the district on Tuesday. The convict is Kazi Md Hasan Imam Shameem, 40, son of Abdul Mannan of Dibuarpur village. Md Jahangir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kawkhali Police Station, said Shameem introducing himself as an MBBS doctor and medical officer of Patuakhali Eye Hospital has been giving treatment to the local people for the last few months. On information, the law enforcers raided his house in the afternoon and arrested him. He was later produced before the court, led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Labani Chakma, which pronounced the verdict.
