Expat hacked dead in broad daylight in Tongi

A youth was allegedly hacked to death in broad daylight in Gazipur's tongi this morning.

The victim, Delwar Hossain, 30, an expatriate living in Malaysia, returned home two months ago, our Gazipur correspondent reports quoting police.

Tongi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Aminul Islam said one Picchi Hossain gang-attacked Delwar at the latter's Ershad Nagar area residence around 10:00am and fled.

According to the OC, the attack was motivated from previous enmity.

Delwar was rushed to Tongi Government Hospital where doctors declared him dead. Resident Physician Md Parvez said the body had multiple gashes inflicted by sharp weapons.

No one was arrested until last reported around 2:00pm.
