Ex-Teknaf OC Pradeep shifted to Ctg jail from Cox’s Bazar
Former officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar, also an accused in Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan murder case, was shifted to Chattogram Central Jail from Cox's Bazar Jail today as he is set to be produced before a court in a case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission over accumulating wealth illegally.
Kamal Hossain, jail super of Chattogram Cental Jail, told The Daily Star that he reached the jail around 12:50pm.
"He will be produced before the court in connection with a case filed by the ACC on September 14," our Chattogram correspondent quoted the jail super as saying.
Deputy Jailor Mazharul Islam said Pradeep has been taken to a cell. Hehas not been given any division facilities, Mazharul said.
ACC's Assistant Director Riaz Uddin filed the case against Pradeep with its Chattogram office on August 24.
Pradeep was withdrawn on August 5 from Teknaf Police Station after he was sued over the murder of Sinha. He surrendered before a Cox's Bazar court on August 6.
