DU asks non-students to vacate halls before the university reopens

The Dhaka University authorities today asked those whose studentships have already expired to vacate halls before the university reopens.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the provost standing committee presided over by DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman last night, said a press release of the university.

"Those who do not have studentship, are being asked to leave the dormitories with their belongings after contacting the respective hall provosts. It's very important to make them vacate the halls to put an end to the so-called "gono room" crisis…," said the release.

The meeting also discussed cleaning the infrastructures of the university, hall yards and formulating a hygiene policy as a preconditions to reopening the dormitories.
