Drug peddler jailed

A mobile court sentenced a drug peddler to two years' imprisonment and fined another in Muktagachha municipality area of the district. The convicts are Md Tofazzel Hossain, 40, son of late Taleb Sarker, and Md Rana, 35, son of Akhter Ali of the area. Tofazzel was jailed for two years while Rana was fined Tk 1000. Law enforcers in a drive arrested the two with heroin and hemp in the area on Saturday afternoon, said court sources. They were later produced before the court, led by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Umme Afsari Johra, which punished him.
