Drug addict kills father

A man was hacked to death allegedly by his drug addict son at Barodangri in Iswarganj upazila of the district yesterday. The dead is Alam Uddin Fakir, 55, of the area. Police and family sources said Monwar Hossain Fakir, 27, demanded Tk 3000 from his father Alam for buying drugs. As Alam denied to pay the money, Monwar hacked his father, leaving him seriously injured at noon. Alam later died on way to the upazila health complex, said Borhan Uddin, officer-in-charge of Iswarganj Police Station. Police arrested Monwar in this connection, said the OC.
