Driver murdered, 2 hurt

A youth was killed and two others were injured in a clash between two rival groups in Purbo Jahangirabad Kazipara area under Shibganj upazila on Wednesday.

The dead is auto-rickshaw driver Badol Hossain, 28, son of late Ashob Ali Pramanik of the village.

The injured are Bulbul Hossain, 20, brother of the deceased, and their neighbour Belal Ali, 30, son of Shahadat Hossain of the area.

They were rushed to the upazila health complex and later shifted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital as their condition deteriorated.

Police and locals said there was a longstanding conflict between the auto-rickshaw driver and his uncle over a boundary and water supply line.

On Wednesday night, they locked in a clash over the issue, leaving three people injured.

They were rushed to the upazila health complex where on-duty doctors declared Badol dead.
