Trial run of the first train for Dhaka's metro rail project has begun in Japan, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited said in a Facebook post today.

The train made of stainless steel with six compartments and painted in red and green was seen making a trial run at the factory in Japan in a video posted by the company in its Facebook page.

The train can carry maximum 2,308 passengers and will run on the elevated tracks under the project.

Upon completion of all factory tests and trials, the first train is scheduled to be delivered to Bangladesh on June 15 this year, the company said in the Facebook post.
