Decapitated bodies of two siblings found in Brahmanbaria

The decapitated bodies of two siblings were found at their residence in Bancharampur upazila of Brahmanbaria last night.

Police recovered the bodies of Shipa Akter (14) and her brother Kamrul Hasan (10), children of Saudi-returnee Kamal Miah, from under two separate beds of their house in Salimabad area around 10:00pm yesterday, said Officer-in-charge of Bancharampur Police Station Md Salauddin Ahmed.

Shipa was a class eight student of Bancharampur Girls' School and Kamrul was a fifth grader at Salimabad Government Primary School, our Brahmanbaria correspondent reports quoting the OC.

Quoting the family, the OC said victims' mother Hasina Akter went to look for Kamrul as he was missing since yesterday afternoon.

When she returned home, she found that her daughter Shipa was missing from home as well, the police officer said.

Later, the bodies of her two children were found under their beds, he said.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (Nabinagar circle) Mokbul Hossain told The Daily Star that they were investigating the motive behind the murders.

The bodies were sent to Brahmanbaria General Hospital morgue for autopsy, he added.
