Ctg Int’l Trade Fair suspended over coronavirus fears

The ongoing month-long Chattogram International Trade Fair (CITF) 2020, which began in the port city's Railway Pologround on March 5, has been suspended this evening, aiming to prevent spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).

Mahbubul Alam, president of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) which is organising the fair, told The Daily Star that they decided to suspend the fair until further announcement following a directive of the Ministry Commerce in this regard.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi inaugurated the fair titled 28th Chattogram International Trade Fair (CITF) 2020 on March 5 where participants from home and abroad were displaying their products at around 370 stalls including 20 premier gold pavilions, 33 premier pavilions and 22 mega stalls.

CCCI has been organising the fair since 1993.
