Complaint filed accusing one of raping 5-year-old in Manikganj

A five-year-old child was raped by her 45-year-old neigbour in Manikganj, according to a complaint lodged by the child's grandmother.

The lone accused remains on the run and police are trying their best to arrest him, said Mueid Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Harirampur Police Station.

The child is now undergoing treatment at the 250-bed Manikganj District Hospital, our local correspondent reports.

According to the child's grandmother, the man raped the child on October 3 and then gave her Tk five requesting her not to disclose the incident.

The victim described the incident to her grandmother after returning home in tears. The complaint was filed with Harirampur Police Station on the same day.
