Case filed over Narayanganj mosque blast

A case has been filed with Fatullah Model Police Station over the recent blast at the Baitul Salat Jame Mosque in Narayanganj accusing unidentified people of negligence.

Sub Inspector Humayun Kabir filed the case against unidentified people, alleging negligence resulted in the explosion and casualties, said officer-in-charge (OC) of Fatulla Model Police Station Aslam Hossain.

No person was named in the case, he said.

Narayanganj Superintendent of Police Zayedul Alam said, "The matter still seems to us to be an accident".

Twenty-five people died and some 40 suffered burn injuries in the blast during Esha prayers in the mosque at Fatullah, Narayanganj on Friday night.

Locals said the incident took place around 8:45pm when the devotees had just finished their prayers.
