BSF fires gunshots

A man went missing at Dungdungi border in Biral upazila of the district after Indian Border Security Force (BSF) fired gunshots early yesterday. The victim is Ayub Ali, 35, son of Afaz Uddin of Birla village in the upazila. BSF men fired four gunshots as a gang of smugglers appeared inside Indian territory around 4:00am. There was a firing inside the Indian territory as the gang cut the barbed wire, said Aklen Abedin, commanding officer of BGB-42 Battalion. But they are yet to be sure of any missing incident, he said. However, Afroza Begum, wife of the missing man, said her husband went out of home three days ago and did not return home since then.
