Boy murdered

A teenage boy was beaten to death at Kironganj village in Shibganj upazila on Friday. The deceased, Russel Uddin, 16, son of Mofizul Haque of the village, was a security guard at a mango orchard at the village. Police and locals said one Halim, 16, son of Abu Bakar of the village, used to steal mangos from the orchard. Around 5:30pm on Friday, Russel caught Halim and threatened him to inform the orchard owner about the matter. Being aggrieved, Halim started to beat up Russell mercilessly, leaving him seriously injured. He later died on the way to a hospital. Halim went into hiding soon after the incident.
