BCL leader killed in Narail

A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League was hacked to death by miscreants in Lohagarh upazila of Narail last night.

The deceased was identified as Zahirul Islam Rezwan (30), secretary of Dighalia union unit of Chhatra League and son of late Saiful Islam, said Syed Ashiqur Rahman, officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lohagarh Police Station.

The miscreants attacked Rezwan with sharp weapons near Dighalia Bazar yesterday evening, leaving him critically injured, said the OC.

Locals later rescued him and took him to Narail Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead, said the police official.

No one filed any case over the murder till 2:00pm today, our Bagerhat correspondent reports, quoting the OC.
