Bangladesh Coast Guard seizes 2 lakh yaba pills in Patenga

Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard today claimed to have recovered two lakh yaba pills in a raid conducted at Patenga beach in Chattogram.

The coast guard forces also seized a boat used to smuggle the contraband pills during the raid, our local correspondent reports quoting Lieutenant Commander Md Saiful Islam, staff officer (operations eastern region) of the Coast Guard.

Acting on a tip, a team of the coast guard conducted the raid at Ghat 15 in Patenga around 2:30am early this morning, seized the boat and recovered 2 lakh yaba pills from the boat, the Coast Guard official said.

The smugglers fled the spot to escape arrest, Saiful Islam said.

"We know who were involved in the yaba smuggling racket and a raid is underway to arrest them," said Saiful.
