Auto-rickshaw driver, 2 others allegedly gang-rape woman in Habiganj

A woman was gang-raped allegedly by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver and two others in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj.

The 30-year-old was on her way to Majlishpur of Sherpur on the auto-rickshaw from Syedpur area on Sunday evening, police said quoting the victim.

She filed a case against three people with Nabiganj Police Station last night, said Md Azizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of the station.

According to the case statement, instead of dropping the woman off at Majlishpur, the auto-rickshaw driver took her to a different place, where there were two other men. They then bound her hands, feet and her mouth.

She was then gang-raped by the auto-rickshaw driver and two others in an abandoned building in Auskandi union parishad, said the statement.

She managed to return to her relative's house the next morning, OC Md Azizur Rahman said quoting the victim.

Parvez Alam Chowdhury, assistant superintendent (Nabiganj-Bahubal Circle) of Habiganj police said they have started conducting raids to arrest the accused.
