Attempt to rape mute girl

A man was arrested on charge of attempting to violate a 10-year-old speech-impaired girl in Senuapara area under Thakurgaon municipality on Friday.

The arrestee was identified as Mukul Hossain, 50, son of late Amir Hossain of the area.

Quoting locals, police said Mukul tied to rape the minor girl while she was alone in her house on Friday night. 

The victim's mother returned to the house at that moment and screamed for help to save her daughter.

Police said villagers caught Mukul from the house and handed him over to them.
