AL office torched

Criminals torched a local Awami League (AL) office at Zirangachha village and an office of locally based cooperative farm in Sharsha upazila of Jessore district early yesterday. Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Sharsha Police Station, said a gang of two riding a motorcycle came to the area and torched the AL office and the office of 'Zirangachha Sarbik Gram Unnoyon Samabay Samity Ltd' around 2:30am. The losses caused by the fire could go up to Tk 2 lakh. A case was filed in connection with the incident, said the OC.
