AL man held on charge of Jubo League activist murder

An Awami League activist, also a union parishad member, was arrested in Natore Sadar upazila on Monday for his alleged involvement in the murder of Jubo League man Abdur Razzak.

The arrestee is Afir Uddin, 42, member of Ward No 9 of Tebaria Union Parishad and son of Nabir Uddin of the village. Afir Uddin is also a local Awami League leader.

Officer-in-Charge of Detective Branch (DB) of police Abdul Hai said they arrested Jubo League activist Jewel Hossain on Sunday night. Later, Jewel gave confessional statement to the court about his involvement in the murder.

Following Jewel's statement, a team of DB police raided Ramnagar village and arrested Afir Uddin.

Abdur Razzak was hacked to death on May 2 in Ramnagar area.
