‘Abduction by rapist’ in Kurigram: Victim yet to be rescued; police role 'unsatisfactory’
The seventh-grader who was abducted allegedly by her rapist and his family members in Ulipur upazila of Kurigram two days ago, is yet to be rescued.
Police has also not been able to arrest anybody in connection with the abduction, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent quoting Ulipur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moazzem Hossain.
"We will soon be able to rescue the schoolgirl and arrest all those involved in the incident," the OC claimed adding that they have provided security to the victim's family.

However, the victim's parents complained that the police were not sincere about the matter.
"The role of the police is unsatisfactory. They visited our house and just gave false consolation that they will rescue my daughter unhurt," the father of the victim said.
"I don't know how my daughter is, how much she is being tortured. I don't even know if she was killed," he said while talking to our correspondent.
The victim's father yesterday lodged a complaint with Ulipur Police Station against one Sohel Rana, his father, uncle, cousin, and eight relatives in connection with the incident.
The girl was abducted as the victim's family filed a case in January this year against Sohel, 19, son of Nur Alam of Gunaigachh union, for raping the minor multiple times, according to victim's family and locals.
The victim's father alleged that the rapist and his family members attacked them in their house and forcibly took the girl away after beating him and his mother yesterday evening.
"Sohel Rana also threatened to forcibly marry my daughter," the victim's father said.
Sohel Rana was earlier arrested in the rape case filed by the victim's family and is currently out on bail, police said.
The charge sheet of the case was submitted before the court, police said.
