Abducted schoolgirl traceless for a week
A schoolgirl who was abducted by a gang of youths in Daulatpur upazila on October 5 is yet to be rescued after over a week of the incident.
Father of the victim, a Class IX student at a local high school, filed an abduction case with Daulatpur Police Station accusing four youths on October 10.
According to the case statement, four youths led by Akhinur Sheikh, 20, abducted the girl on her way back from one of her classmates house at Rauha village in the upazila on October 5 evening.
Victim’s father told this newspaper that Akhinur, son of Sadek Hossain, had long been stalking his daughter on her way to and from school.
Investigating Officer of the case Sub-Inspector Morshed Alam said they were trying to rescue the schoolgirl, adding that they have already arrested one of the accused Rajib, 22, son of Jabed Matabbar of Par-Rouha village.
