Abducted girl rescued

An abducted schoolgirl was rescued from Banbhasa village in Sadar upazila of the district yesterday.

Police arrested Laizu Begum, 32, wife of Akkas Ali of Rangpur city, for her alleged involvement in the abduction.

The victim is Mohana Akhter, 7, daughter of Abdul Momin of Balapukur village in Aditmari upazila. 

Family sources said Laizu lured the girl with chocolate and picked up her when she was returning home from Balapukur Bazar at noon.

On information, the villagers rushed to the spot and rescued the girl.
