Abducted boy rescued in Gaibandha, one held

Police rescued a boy from Sundail village in Gobindaganj upazila of the district yesterday, two days after his abduction.

The victim is Joynal Abedin Jahin, 6, a Class One student at local Brac school, and son of Saber Ali of Hathathpara in the upazila.

A gang abducted Jahin while he was playing on the road beside their house at around 11:00am on Friday.

Jahin's father Saber Ali filed an abduction case with Gobindaganj Police Station on Saturday, accusing five people--Rana Mia, Rafiqul Islam, Belal, Monir, and Yusuf Ali--of the same village.

Acting on a tip-off, law enforcers raided Sundail village at around 2:00pm and rescued Jahin from an abandoned house. They also arrested Rana Mia, one of the five accused, from there while the rest managed to flee.
