7yr-old boy found dead in Dhaka’s Mirpur
A seven-year-old boy was found dead at a 14-storey building in Mirpur-10 today, two days after he went missing from Dhaka's Mirpur-6 area from near his house.
The victim Shamnur Hossain's mother today filed a murder case today accusing five persons in the abduction and murder with Mirpur Model Police Station, reports our staff correspondent quoting Sub-Inspector Tamim Rahman of Mirpur Model Police Station.
The boy had been missing since the evening on Thursday while he was playing near his house at Mirpur-6 area, said the SI, adding that on that very night his mother Roksana got a call from an unknown person who demanded Tk 5 lakh as ransom for his release.
Roksana gave Tk 60,000 to the miscreants through Bkash in several phases, the SI said.
Acting on a tip-off, police today recovered the body from a staircase of the building in Mirpur-10 in Dhaka and sent the body to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College for autopsy.
Meanwhile, police in separate drives arrested four accused from capital's different area in connection with the abduction and murder.
The arrestees are -- Nur ALam Proloy, Yusuf Newaz, Khairul Islam and Mahfuzur Rahman.
