7 Shibir-BNP men arrested on subversion charge

Seven Shibir-BNP men were arrested on subversion charge in the district yesterday.

The arrestees are Shibir activists Shohel Rana, 30, of Shahjahanpur upazila; Hedayetul Isalm Ujjal, 26, of Adamdighi upazila; Rezwanul Haque, 22, Golam Rabbani, 22, of Kahaloo upazila; BNP man Jahangir Alam, 40, of Sherpur upazila, and Kahaloo upazila Shibir President Faruque, 23.

Police said Shibir leader Rezwanul was wanted in six cases while the rest were wanted in two cases filed with different police stations in the district.

Contacted, Md Asaduzzaman, superintendent of police (SP), said law enforcers are raiding different areas to arrest the accused in the cases for torching and vandalising vehicles during the BNP-led alliance' agitation programmes.
