498kg sulphur seized
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 498 kilograms of sulphur from a bordering village in Hakimpur upazila of the district early yesterday. A BGB team from Basudevpur Border Outpost, acting on a tip-off, raided Chengram village around 5:30am and seized the sulphur from a field in an abandoned condition, said Abu Sayeed Mridha, deputy director of Joypurhat BGB 3 Battalion. The border guards also seized 270 bottles of contraband Phensidyl from the same spot, added the BGB official.
