4 maunds of hemp seized

Police in a raid seized four maunds of Indian contraband hemp worth about Tk 20 lakh from a truck on Rangpur-Kurigram road in Teesta Road Bridge area under Sadar upazila of the district on Tuesday. They also seized the vehicle from the spot. However, the trucker and his helper managed to flee the scene, sensing the presence of the law enforcers, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Adibul Islam. The Bogra-bound truck carrying the drug was coming from Kurigram, said the ASP.
