4 held with arms, ammo in Bogra

Detective Branch (DB) of Police in separate drives arrested four people, including a woman, and seized arms, ammunition and Yaba tablets from their possession in Sadar and Kahaloo upazila of the district early yesterday.

The arrestees are Rabbi Mia, 22, of Shahardighi village, Ashik Mondol, 21, and Parvez Alam, 22, of Palsha village in Bogra Sadar upazila, and Lebu Begum, 45, wife of Ali Hossain of Dogachhi village in Kahaloo upazila of the district.

Police said, a DB team, acting on a tip-off, raided Rabbi's house at Shahardighi village early yesterday. After searching the house police recovered a pistol and 10 bullets from there.

Later, according to the Rabbi's statement, the DB men conducted a drive at Palsha village and detained Ashik and Parvez with 100 Yaba tablets.

On the basis of Parvez statement, law enforcers went to Dogachhi village in Kahaloo upazila and arrested Lebu Begum, 45, with a pistol, three bullets and two magazines.
