36 Indian cattle seized
Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 36 Indian cattle from different border areas in Sadar upazila of the district on Wednesday night. Lt Col Ahmed Junaed Alam Khan, commanding officer of BGB 9 Battalion in Chapainawabganj, said a team of BGB from Bakher Ali border observation post went to Padmar Char area near border pillar number 27 and recovered 18 bullocks at around 6:00pm. Another team from Johorpur Tek border observation post went to Saddamer Char area near border pillar number 23 and recovered 14 Indian bullocks. In another drive, a team from Johorpur border observation post went to Kalupur field and recovered four bullocks near pillar number 16. None was arrested in connection with the incidents. Later, BGB handed the cattle over to customs authority.
