3 JMB men held with bombs
Police arrested three alleged members of banned Islamist outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Kashiabari village in Atrai upazila of Naogaon on Tuesday.
They also recovered three crude bombs and a sharp weapon from their possession.
The arrestees are Shahagol Union Parishad member Abdul Hye, 45, son of Abdul Aziz, Ziaur Rahman, 37, son of Kaber Shah of Atrai, and Moyen Sardar, 35, son of Hurmat Ali of Kashiabari upazila.
On secret information, the law enforcers raided the area around 7:00pm and arrested the trio with the bombs when they were holding a secret meeting there for planning an attack in the district, said police.
They were close aides of executed JMB leader Siddiqur Rahman alias Bangla Bhai.
The arrestees are accused in several criminal cases, said Md Badruddoza, officer-in-charge of Atrai Police Station.
