Our Tangail Correspondent reported that, police on Sunday night arrested two accused in connection with a case for gang-raping a schoolgirl after abduction in Bhuapur upazila about a week ago.
The arrestees include Mohammad Jakaria, 20, son Abdul Khalek, of Polshia village.
Earlier, father of the victim girl, also a Class X student at a local school, filed a rape case with Bhuapur Police Station accusing four youths, including the two arrestees, the same evening.
According to the case statement, one of the accused in the case used to stalk the 16-year-old schoolgirl on her way to and from the school.
On the night of March 9, he along with his three accomplices -- Jibon, Sujon and Jakaria -- picked up the girl when she went out of her house to respond to the call of nature.
They took her to adjacent Sirajkandi village where Sujon and Jakaria raped her while two others helped them in committing the crime.
They later released the victim after threatening her not to disclose the matter to anyone else.
